OUR STORY

Family-Owned Business

W. Earle and Bernice Dougherty began the original Broadview Farm in the early 1900s when they purchased a parcel of land in East Bridgewater Massachusetts. They gifted 3 acres to Robert E. Dougherty, they're son, to begin his life on. I, Robert H. Dougherty, grew up on this farm raising poultry, rabbits, and goats through my childhood and have now come back to that life in 2021 on 9 acres in Wakefield, NH.

ABOUT DOUGHERTY FARM

The Dougherty Farm has been in the making for decades. We are third generation New England farmers who struck off into the Lakes Region of New Hampshire to begin our own style. The Earth and its inhabitants have given us many gifts throughout our lives, and we have decided to give back.

This farm is currently in the start-up phase, and although we lack certification, we follow organic practices. We grow our livestock and crops in a more natural setting to work with nature instead of against her. Our goal is to produce abundant supplies of food that is healthy and tasty while creating habitat and healthy ecosystems for wildlife and wild plants.

For the love of FLAVOR!

Many people do not buy sustainably sourced organic food simply because of the price tag. While evidence suggests that it takes less of this food to satiate and sustain your body than regular groceries, it can be difficult to change habits. Our goal here is to provide nutritious flavorful food to our customers while continuing to find ways to reduce our costs, and therefor prices.
